Wednesday Holy Week
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
you look towards us
with eyes of mercy, love and forgiveness.
In your loving plan of salvation,
your Son Jesus our Lord,
before he willingly took up his cross,
was deceived by the traitor with a kiss.
How pitiful to imagine that the God of Love,
was betrayed by a sign of affection!
Yet your traitor was not the last to let you down,
simply the most famous.
Each one of us has betrayed you
in some way or the other,
none of us have been perfect
in loving you the way you really deserve.
You know our faults and the guilt within,
cleanse us Lord for all the unconfessed specks of sin,
and renew our spirit as we approach this Holy Triduum,
with deep faith and undying hope.
We make our prayer
through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
