Friday Second Week of Lent

Prayer:

Dear Lord, while on earth
You were ridiculed and despised by many,
and yet You refused no one
who came to You in their need.
We on the other hand turn and walk away
when faced with challenges in our faith.
More often than not, we chose the easy way out
when our charity and good works bring about
rejection and humiliation.

When confronted with contempt,
remind us O Lord,
that it was the stone rejected
that became the Keystone.
Help us continue with the hope,
that You are by our side always.
And that You will never give us more
than we can endure.
Keep us humble and steadfast
in following You to Calvary and beyond.

We make our prayer
through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever.
